Hi all,

I am sorry if this question should not be asked in this forum. I searched in net but not able to figure out why most sun threads are not working. It directs to a OTN discussion form from where i am not able to figure out the thread.

Is there a way I can access this old thread ? -> Sun Old Forum Thread

Yes, facing the same problem,, control is going to forum home. Seems we will have to search old discussions by going through this forum.

Is it about freezing columns in JTable?

Go to the search button, put the thread ID 701198 which is in the link you posted earlier in the "terms" box, change the Date to "all" and off you go

Um, Campbell, that search returns a forum thread that linked to http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=701198 -- not the same.

At least you can find the old thread from the link. Direct links to the Sun fora seem to go to the table of contents page. But obviously the old threads are still on the server, just awkward to find.

No, they've all been migrated to forums.oracle.com but have new thread id numbers. Also and most unfortunately, the old threads appear to have not been indexed by search engines like Google, so they can't be found by a keyword search.

Here's the thread you were looking for: http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1381497

Not that it helps as it just has a dead link to yet another thread, which may or may not be this one. But I'm curious. Why are you trying to locate a 6 or 7 year old forum thread? Rob Camick aka camickr has published an improved and well documented version here.

Hi Darryl,

I was able to finish that using Rob Camick's Fixed Column Table. But during search i got this thread addressed as useful by many. This post was created before i figured out the Fixed Column Table model.

Thanks for the information you all shared
