On SCJA Certification guide by Mr. Cameron McKenzie(Page 24, 2nd edition)the diagram represents Message Queues in data-tier. I would like to know how Message Queues fit in data-tier. Wouldn't JMS messages fit in middle-tier?
I guess it depends if you are using JMS as a data store of sorts . I personally do see it as being part of a middle tier messaging/transport layer but I guess YMMV.
So, in case question is posed in exam for "where does message queues reside", what will be the appropriate answer data-tier or middle-tier?(considering the fact that we don't have option for "Depends" and "Both")

I think it's best for someone else who's been through the exam to answer this one (as the exam maybe looking for a particular answer that is different to the 'real world') .
