Hi,

I'm signing up shortly but wondering if my current book "Head First Java" could be considered an OK substitute for the recommended "Just Java" book? Happy to go with the recommendation if it is more specific to the assignment content. Thanks.

Head First Java is definitely a fine alternative.

Thanks. Another question - do we wait for some sort of response after payment before we can submit assigments?

Normally the confirmation is sent to the student and Katrina simultaneously. You might check your spam box ...

Thanks. I noticed I did get email confirmation but my PayPal email address is my home one (where it went) and my registered user account for JavaRanch is my work one. Which one should I use for submissions?

Hi Cameron,

I bought a used copy of the "Just Java" book from Amazon.com. Very inexpensive and there were no markings in it. Even though I have other Java books I decided I needed "Just Java" because many of the threads in the Cattle Drive reference examples in the book.

Cheers,
Margaret

Usually the nitpicker just hits the "reply" button, so the response will normally go to the same address you sent the submission from. Otherwise it gets complicated very quickly.
