Java FX in Action by Simon Morris is a very good Book for beginners.
Excellent & easy to read The language used in the book is very light.
It is very pleasure to read, still everything is explained clearly with examples.
you can download example codes from http://www.manning.com/morris/

Hope JavaRanch will start JavaFX forum very soon.

I'm interested because while I'm not currently using Flex myself, one of my programmers is using it and I would like to be able to ask intelligent questions, especially if he leaves the company and thus leaves me hanging.

Ed - probably the best way to approach that is ask him to show you some of his code, and then say the following: "Yes, but is that really the proper use of MVC architecture?" You'll know every bit of code throughout that app frontwards and back in no time at all. Trust me, it works

Welcome folks and hope Adobe Flex survives after so much heat on it from Apple and its supporters like WSJ etc.

Thanks,

Its great to hear and learn more about flex4. I have been working on flex3 for almost an year now and was aware of the new release named "Gumbo". I am facinated about all the new things that could be done using Flex4 and would definitely be interested in learning those.
Hope this forum provides all of us with this opportunity, especially with the authors of this new book joining in...
Cheers!!
