Did you learn the languages specifically for this book, or were you already familiar with them? When choosing the languages, how much did knowing one more than another matter?

I knew three of them pretty well. (Well, I knew Lisp, not Clojure.) I also knew Erlang. I had dabbled in Prolog and Scala. The others were entirely new.
