Hi Paul, Joseph, and other Ranchers,

Please give me some guidance on how to approach this exam,
I have total 4+ yrs experience into java technologies... I have experience into Core java, Jsp, Servlets, struts1, Spring (IOC, AOP, JDBC) I have experience on Liferay Technology too..!!!
I too wish to be a good technical architect... it is my dream..
Is it a right time to think of being a technical architect?
How should I start for the same.. ?

I am SCJP as well as SCWCD.

How much depth does the above book "OCM Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect Exam Guide" cover about this certification.
What other books are required for the above exam.?

Regards,
-Pankaj.

Yes the time is right to step up to Architect spot.
Yes read other materials on objectives where you feel weak.
As my co Author and friend Paul Allen has pointed out, we designed the book to cover all aspects of the OCMJEA 6 exam and to provide the reader with sufficient material (including practice exams) in order to pass all three parts. The essays are good models to use to answer part 3. We provide a good set of QA to prep for part 1 multiple choice questions
best

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your reply..

How should I approach this exam?

This Exam has EJB, JPA and WebServices too.. where I am lacking..

In Part 2 of this exam, Am I supposed to develop and code the project ? or Am I just supposed to design it?

Regards,
-Pankaj.

For part 2, it's a design project producing UML diagrams and stuff. No coding whatsoever at least not for submission.
