I am a Java EE developer with over 6 years of experience. I am getting offer to work on W2 for $55/hr (No benefits) and Full-Time permanent jobs for 100-105k/year salary with all benefits.

I am confused as to which option is best???

There are a lot of things to consider. a quick calculation says $55/hour is about $112k per annum.

What are the benefits? Healthcare alone might make up the difference. Then, retirement plans, paid vacations, etc. are all worth something. I prefer the stability of being a full-time employee. However, I know other people who prefer the freedom to move around.

What are the two jobs exactly? Does one fall more into an area you prefer to work? What about the culture at each place - my wife interviewed at two places recently. One paid less, but was more casual and happy. The other paid more, but the office was silent as a tomb and nobody seemed to smile.

I guess my main point is that there are many, many more variables to consider than just the base pay.

Agreed. Healthcare is huge in the US. Even more so if you have a family.

Retirement is a big consideration too. Some companies match the first few percent of the 401k. At minimum, it could be considered a bonus of a few percent of your salary. To further that, if you contribute the maximum, this bonus is in addition to the allowed maximum, so you have extra cash earning interest (that you couldn't get it into you 401K in any other way).
