Hi,
I have completed my OCMJEA(J2EE5) this month and would now like to go for mandatory training. All credit goes to Mikalai Zaikin's studey notes and this forum and after that it was bit of my hard work as well.

1)As I am tight on cash need to know the cheapest training course available in india? As far as I know "Java EE 7: New Features" seems to be of lesser cost but it need another one as pre-requisite.
2)I have read that training on demand which are pre-recorded course videos can also be done instead of going for live courses, can any one confirm on this please?

Above meant that I have cleared assignment and essay, still not certified as mandatory training is pending.

Here at CodeRanch we have the Cattle Drive for learning Java and general good programming practices, which in my opinion is extremely good value for money.

Hi Tim,
Will these training be counted by Oracle and I will be eligible to receive OCMJEA certificate with these?

The Cattle Drive is not affiliated with Oracle and you will not receive an OCMJEA cert from it. What you will receive is some top quality assistance and feedback from one of our excellent nitpickers.

I don't know what the "mandatory training" requirements are for that certification, so I'll let someone else chime in on that topic.

Yogindar,

Yes, on training on demand (TOD) do count, and are an inexpensive option. They're are also good because you don't need to take time off from work and get to the training center, which can be a significant expense.

The ones that do not count are the self-study CD and online courses. Unfortunately, anything else not offered by Oracle doesn't count either.

As for taking "Java EE 7: New Features" I do not know if they will let you take the course without the prerequisite.

Good luck,

Andres

This link from Oracle

https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=653&get_params=p_id:212#tabs-2-2

gives you the course options those apply towards OCMJEA certification.

I had myself taken Java EE 7 New Features

It was an online course LVC.
