Hi Alicia Claney, Welcome to code ranch

You need to use code tags so that we can help you better. "It will not run" doesn't make much sense. Does the screen go blank ? Does it throw an error ? You need to be a bit specific here.

Welcome to the Ranch.

Please read ItDoesntWorkIsUseless and follow up your post accordingly.

(I went ahead and added the code tags for you -- see how much easier to read it is? )

Hey
Sorry I didn't know how to do that but I just figured it out though...thank you

But this is the error that keeps showing up "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problem:

at getSales.main(Sales.java:18)"

on line 52 you have closed the parenthesis but still after that you are adding method..

Also in the code posted there are several problems.. Starting from the class name..

It seems like you are new to java. I would suggest to start small programs first and then grow bigger.
"getSales" isn't a good name for a class. A Class is typically a noun and is written with the first letter capitalized.
Why are most items in your code public and static ?

You should be seeing an error when you compile this to the effect that getSales() method is not returning a value as declared.

(The close brace on line 52 is not wrong btw, its only the indentation around that method that is misleading, I suggest you fix up your indentation)

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
