Using java.io package we can read and write simple text files . Is there a way of reading and writing image files (like .gif, .jpg) from local disk as well as a remote location
In java.io there are classes to handle character streams (like text files): The Reader nad Writer classes. There are other classes for reading and writing binary data. (InputStream, OutputStream and others). The Writers and Readers were inserted in Java 1.1, but the binary classes are still used for binary files (like gif). Hope this helps Axel
