I have been programming in Java for quite a while. I am finally deciding to take the SCJP and want suggestions as to preparing.

I have the McGraw Hill book and am starting to read through that, but I also see several sites that offer training:

http://www.whizlabs.com/scjp/scjp-6.0-details.html

https://suncertification.elementk.com/keycode/dm_offerprice_presentation.jsp?keycode=SCJP74297959

and
http://www.ucertify.com/exams/SUN/CX310-065.html

While I am not opposed to pay for a service that helps me get to the test quicker and with better preparation material, I do not have money to waste on a product or service that is not proven, or reliable.

Thus, reaching out for some help.

Thanks in advance
Mick

Hi Mick! welcome to javaranch

I think Whizlabs and Enthuware are the most popular mock exams. There's also a free one at examlab.tk which also seems good. Inquisition is also a good free mock. You can view a list of paid and free mock exams in javaranch Mock exam list

Best of luck for your preparation

Thanks for the recommendation on the Mock exams, and the list is great! That will keep me busy for some time.

But to expand a bit on this, aside from Mock exams, Whizlabs and Element K both have a paced preparation tool that helps you study, not just practice the tests. Do you have any suggestions on that part?

Hi Ankit

I have downloaded both examlab and enthuware but haven't used enthuware yet.
Could you please suggest any chapter wise mock exam for SCJP6 if there are any?
Any inputs would be appreciated.
