Hello,

I am planning to do my first sun certification exam after 6 to 8 months from now. I brought the " SCJP 6 " book too (My lecturer asked me to buy it). My question is, now for which exam I should apply? SCJP OR OCJP ? I have heard now the SCJP exam has become OCJP because there is no "Sun Microsystems" anymore, but they are still naming the book as SCJP. Is this is true? In complete words I wanna do "Sun certified JAVA programmer" exam (yeah, as I said, some says now this has RENAMED to "Oracle certified JAVA programmer"). Please help

SCJP and OCJP are same, just name change. but while preparing for exam have a look on Objective and see if your book cover all objective. otherwise you need to prepare from some extra material as well. All the best.

Thanks for the reply Paul. I bought the book SCJP 6 written by "Kathey Seira" and "Bert Bates". That is the official book isn't it? So all the details should be there

I completely agree with Javin, it's just a name change. Keep updated with the exam objectives on the Oracle site and the
book is sufficient for preparation.
