Importing 3DS Max file into HTML5 Canvas via Flash

Hi all, I want to import a 3ds max file into html5 canvas element. After searching many sites I came to know this is not possible. However I got an idea of importing the max file into flash and converting it into swf format. I know using this approach I will not be able to use the full functionalities of html5.

I have one doubt here, my max file will contain some code to zoom in and out, few elements to interact with the model. Will this work in flash after converting?

I am not a max guy neither a flash guy. I hope there is some scripting language for max also like we have action script for flash. We are working on a project and right now we are doing feasibility study, technology selection etc.

PS: I know that there is a framework called WebGL to get 3d graphics. However I hope 3ds max is much easier that it. So I want to go with the aforementioned approach. In the worst case we would go for WebGL and right now I don't know about WebGL's full capabilities also. Some other guy is reading about WebGL and its limitations etc.

Max has it's own scripting language -> MaxScript

I would look into the file extensions that Max exports and see if one of those fit into what I was trying to accomplish. Depending on what you are wanting to get out of the Max file. Just a 3d model, animation, etc. That will dictate the file formats you will need to choose between.

Not sure if Autodesk has an API out for their .*FBX format. But, that is a common format to go back and forth between their products.
