Navneet, for books... you can read Martin Kalin's book for java web services, Sam Ruby and Leonard Richardson for RESTful Web services. As for institute, nobody is gonna walk the road for you. You have to do it alone. Figure it out.

Here is a list of references for this exam:
1. RMH' J2EE Web services (skip UDDI, JAX-RPC)
2. Java Web Services Up and Running
3. http://jersey.java.net/nonav/documentation/latest/jax-rs.html (Chapter 1-5)
4. MZ's study notes on the web at http://java.boot.by/ocewsd6-guide/index.html or some other guide?

Also, try www.examclouds.com. It has some quiz that may help.

I wonder if the content of book "RMH' J2EE Web services" is old for the exam's objects?
Is there anyone having read it and can share how it is?

Thanks.

Hi, Bio Young.
One of the moderators said RMH's book is 10 years old. Some topics like JAX-RPC is obsolete. But some chapters are still helpful for the example, like the chapters about SOAP, WSDL, SAAJ. A rancher suggested us to skip some chapters.
I will let you know which chapters to skip later today.

As suggested by a rancher,
these are the chapters in RMH's book to prepare for exam ( version 6):
Chapter 1-5
Chapter 13- 14
Chapter 20-23

Go to www.examclouds.com as suggested by this exam's FAQ link.
There is a free mock exam based on Martin Kalin and RMH's books.

I am in the same situation as you....struggling for the exam with no official study guide.
I listed a list of books as references because I read the posts. Everyone says RMH's book, Java Web Services Up and Running , MZ and Ivan's notes are helpful.
I am trying to read these books and skip the chapters that are not needed for the exam.

Hello Himai,

From one of your earlier post i got to know the chapters we need to refer in RMHs J2EE Webservices are.
Chapter 1-5
Chapter 13- 14
Chapter 20-23

Can you please tell me what are the chapters that we need to refer in Webservices up and running and from book RESTful webservices book.

Also what is the server/software we need to have to start preparing , since SCWCD was the last exam i wrote Tomcat was sufficient for that.

Thanks

You can read this older post :
http://www.coderanch.com/t/591523/java-Web-Services-SCDJWS/certification/Java-EE-Web-Services-Developer
for some exam tips.

I have not bought Restful Web services book yet. According to MZ or Ivan, he told us to read Jersey user guide chapter 1 -5 for the exam.
For the Up and Running book, I will read all chapters (skip Chapter 4's WADLing). I won't bother to try the code in Java Clients Against Real-World Restful Services because these Yahoo/Google services change their API recently. I may not have time to go through Restlet as it is not mentioned in the objective.

All I have so far is Netbean and JDK 1.6. Either MZ or Ivan suggested us to use JDK 6 is good enough for the exam.

Someone posted that following RMH's book is good. MZ said RMH's book is helpful.
