Hi,

I keep getting questions in Enthuware about the volatile, synchronized, native, transient modifiers, and I have no idea what they mean. Will I be asked about these in the exam...i can't find them mentioned in the objectives

Thanks

Objective 2.1 says Declare and initialize variables. In that context, you should at least know what these modifiers are used for.

HTH,
Paul.

thanks Paul, but I need to know from the people who actually took the exam, did they see this type of questions with those keywords? Cause I'm taking the exam in 2 days so its urgent to know

Thanks

I'm with Paul - you should know what the modifiers mean.

My memories of the exam tend to be towards the practical application of knowledge rather than dictionary definitions. So they might ask you what a piece of code that has the volatile modifier in it does, but not necessarily the definition.
I have never used the native modifier, but you will need to know volatile and synchronized if you ever do anything related to threading/synchronization, and you will need to know transient if you ever do object serialization.

Sorry this is a bit late for your exam, but hopefully it helps someone else. If the modifiers weren't on the OCJA exam, I would expect them to be on the OCJP.
