How different is the real exam from the simulators?

Hello everyone,

I'm going to book for the exam next week and I'd love to know how it differs from the simulators type Enthuware/Whizlabs, precisely:

-in Enthuware simulator there is an handy function to delete the incorrect answers with the right mouse button, there is also the real exam?

-it seems to me that the Whizlabs questions unlike Enthuware need sometimes annoying scrolling for looking the whole question. What about the real exam?

-when you need to review the complete list of questions, are signaled any incomplete responses (eg marked 2 out of 3)?

-can I ask for a pen and paper to be used during the exam?

Yes.

No idea about whizlabs, but in real exam you might get a long code snippet that does not fit into one screen and it requires you to click a button to see the rest of the listing.

Yes.

-can I ask for a pen and paper to be used during the exam?

Yes, but you may also get a wipable plastic sheet and a marker instead of a pen and paper.

Since our simulator is a learning tool, there are a lot more feature in it than you will see in the actual exam. But the question display (without answers) is quite similar to the question display in the actual exam. If you have studied well, you should really not worry about the display in the real exam. It is fairly simple to use. You may also get a few dummy questions before the start of the actual questions to help you get yourself comfortable with the exam format.

BTW, we have observed that candidates in different countries get a slightly different display. We suspect that the display depends on the monitor size. So don't fret over it

Thanks for the reply, you are very kind! I hope that the test center is "quite comfortable" without too much noise, I'm a little anxious, and I could lose focus.

We recommend candidates to visit the test center and see how it is before selecting that test center.

Thanks for the warning, I had already read this board but I can not go before the exam for a number of reasons. I have to trust what they assured me by phone.

I got a white board and a dry erase marker. I am one of those who like to write everything down, even if it's something that can easily be figured out in my head, just to be on the safe side. Anyway, about 3/4 of the way through the exam, when I was worrying I had spent too much time on the previous questions--suddenly my marker dried up! I spent valuable time worrying, then trying to use it anyway. That was stressful. Afterward they said I should have just popped out and asked for another one. I figured that was an option, though was not certain, but what if the clerk was not sitting at the desk at that moment? Then I would have wasted valuable time.

I apologize for repeating! I wonder if we can ask for a spare marker?

The marker thing reminds me of another mistake I made. I was SO careful in the beginning, taking too long, writing down even easy stuff, that I didn't pace myself well. In the practice exams I paced myself , but of course that's because it wasn't a big deal if I made a careless error. My advice would be to pace yourself instead of going slowly on each question, then having time to review.

Also, I didn't look at Oracle's actual objectives. So I ended up learning several things that weren't on the first exam's objectives and not learning one thing that was.
