Many jobs adds want 5 years exp in HTML5, however, the HTML5 standard was only release 2.5 months ago. Do they mean 5 years experience with HTML? Are they expecting 5 years with the draft version of HTML5?

Many ads are written by the clueless. It's a standard joke that jobs ads routinely ask for more years in experience in a technology than years that the technology has existed.

While HTML5 may have formally ratified only 2 months ago, it's been around in draft form for almost a decade.

Cheers!

Anything in just a draft version with no full fledged tooling support around will never make it to any Enterprise's menu!

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
