I don't know where to ask this or even how.

I am adding a new field to a table which is being controlled by Hibernate. I have a System.out in the "set" routine and I see that it is executing and has the correct value. My problem is that the database is not actually being updated.

I don't know much about Hibernate. I mimicked the code of another field which works. Any thoughts on how I might figure out why the actual update is not being done?

Can you post your code and any error messages?

Moving to ORM.

There is a lot of code but I have pasted the three main components below. The new field is called "special"
