In Frits notes,

In 2.1.6 Concurrency, The container serializes calls to each stateful and stateless session bean instance

Is it not the container serializes the method calls (parameters and return types) only with remote calls as these are transferred using "Pass by value"?

Also, I would like to know what is serialized sequence of method calls?

The word "serialize" used here (and in the official EJB specs) means consecutive, sequent, sequential. It has nothing to do with object serialization.

That means the container assign each request to each stateless/stateful bean. The container can execute the multiple beans at the same time.
