I live in Belgium which is very small compared to Canada. I always book the same test centre for my exams. Simply because I know the environment, never had a bad experience and I know the test room is not that big (at most 10 computers).
When I took my most recent exam (OCA7), there were 2 other persons taking an exam as well. And I always choose a time which is convenient for me (e.g. not too early so I have a good night's sleep). I always try to make as little noise as possible when entering or leaving, so I assume others will do the same.
At the registration desk I have a small conversation with the officer to take care of all administration. Then I get a chance to have a (final) drink, go to the bathroom and/or put all my belongings in a locker. Once I'm ready to take the exam, I get some erasable sheets and a dry erase marker. And then we enter the testing room, the officer logs me in, says "Good luck!" and leaves the room. Not the time nor the place for some small talk
