I'm co-organiser of a local software development community event here in Belfast called Functional Kats. We have a couple of lightening talks from top local engineers, followed by a small functional programming coding Kata, wrapping up with a chance to show and discuss your Kata solution to the group.
We run in tandem with a group of the same name that meet in Dublin where we share presentations and connect over a video link. Sometimes we present to them, sometimes them to us. Historically we've used Skype or Hangouts but the quality is a bit naff. Last night we used zoom.us but the free plan chopped us off after 40 minutes, which was an unwelcome surprise.
Can anyone recommend some software that we could use to broadcast present a shared desktop and audio? Some small cost would be tolerated as I'm sure one of our event sponsors would help us out with it, but small or no cost would be ideal. A system with a browser plugin for viewing the stream would be advantageous, as would the ability to share invites to the stream as a URL only.
I have already been recommended 'bluejeans', but I've yet to explore it and I cannot find out how much it costs after the free trial expires.
Thanks, Tim
