Hi all,

I am going for the OCA exam for se8 in couple of weeks. My study has been using the SE7 book so far. Are there any online resources which would be helpful for me to bridge the gap for the SE8 exam? Or will the SE7 book get me through it?

Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks

Hi stefano d'ambrosio,

First of all, a warm welcome to CodeRanch!

In this thread you'll find all available resources (study guides and mock exams) for the OCA 7 and 8 exams.

Of course a study guide for the OCA 7 exam will prepare you for the OCA 7 related topics, but you'll need to study the new OCA 8 topics as well. And maybe even some of the OCA 7 exam topics could be changed in the OCA 8 exam as well. You'll find a mapping between the exam topics of both OCA exams on this link. To bridge the gap, you could consider using some free online resources (e.g. the Oracle Java tutorials) and/or purchase an OCA 8 study guide.

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel
