I have java RMI applications (client, server, common) which runs perfectly in localhost. The server side controls the mysql database. I want to deploy the server and database in the web. Therefore client application can connect to the server through internet. Is it possible to use my current server side application for this? If so how can I do that? Or else what is the best way to use my client side standalone desktop application to connect to the server with the database, through internet?

Welcome to the Ranch!

Yes. You can have your client's registry bind to registry on a different host.
