Linking X3D models to SubPanels

I have an interface that has 36 sub panels and two drop down menus that have 5 items in each which in turn are linked to different X3D models. I was wondering if there's a way to link the X3D models to that they are displayed in the subpanels. So if one item was loaded from the drop down menus, all of the X3D models from that would be in the sub panels.
