Hello guys,

I have that old Enterprise Javabeans 3.0 book by Bill Burke (5th edition) The kangaroo on the cover
Book

I'd like to know if there is much difference between the 3.0 to the 3.1 book and if I can use this 3.0 (5th edition) to study for the OCEEJBD certification (the last one, JEE6)
Ideally I didn't want to buy the new version of the book. Mine is so new and takes too long to arrive here in my country.
Yes I know that the book isn't the only material, and there are great study notes and the JSR that I'll certainly use too ;)

Thank you!

A warm welcome to Coderanch!

There is not a lot of difference between the two editions so you can easlily use the 3.0 version. If you just use to book to get into the topic there is no problem. However both editions do not prepare you for the exam.

Ohhh well look who we got here, the mythical Frits Walraven, famous for his study notes!
Thank you very much, Frits! I will also study using this book then.

PS: I've seen you're from the Netherlands, a country that I admire, are there a lot of Java jobs for english-speaking people over there?

Not as many as there use to be. Most international companies have moved their software development to East-European countries or Asia.
