What is the most important api in Java EE?

Hi,

I was asked in an interview about the core api of the Java EE? Also  the most important api in thr Java EE?
I said servlet, (maybe woth  JSP and EJB).
Which apis is the core of the Java ee? What would you say?

Important is in the eye of the beholder. What's important to one person or company may not be important to others.

For example, I don't use any JEE APIs other than JPA, Servlets and JSP. So all of the other are completely unimportant to me.

As an interview question, I find it pretty much useless. It might have been used as a springboard from which to ask more questions, or delve deeper into a particular API, but then I would have phrased the question differently to remove the subjectivity.
