For me, release 7.10 this is the first Ubuntu release with which everything works out-of-the-box. Even the webcam on my M1330 works.
No problem with wireless, and my laptop contains the new Intel 4965 AGN adapter. The draft-N speed (upto 300 Mbit/s) isn't supported yet (I have a wireless N router) but it works perfectly with the G-speed (54 Mbit/s, which is still 9 times faster than my Internet connection, so I don't really need a faster speed).
The last two weeks I've been playing around and writing small programs in
Java, Ruby and C on my new laptop. Linux is such a nice OS for software development, I like it much more than Windows for this.
