Hey Guys, I'm running fedora 8, And I could not find Beryl through either command line or the package manager. Anyone knows what happened, did fedora remove it from their repository.

Thanks

According to linuxcentral Fedora Core 8 now has Compiz Fusion, which apparently "is the result of a merge between the well-known Beryl composite window manager and Compiz Extras, a community set of improvements to the Compiz composite window manager."

The history goes like this: First there was Compiz, then Beryl split off of Compiz, and since about six months or so they got back together and now it's called Compiz Fusion.

So you really want Compiz Fusion, Beryl isn't developed anymore.

As everyone has replied, beryl is now compiz-fusion ..
However, if you are going to run compiz-fusion on fedora 8, have a look at this bug -- https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=381181
