From the thread on use cases, stories, features (oh, my!)

I've been using this line more and more at work. For every artifact fill in:

"_____ reads _____ to learn _____ so they can _____"

I just had an interesting thought ... how much more open ended and interesting this might be without the artifact.

"_____ needs to know _____ so they can _____"

I was also wondering if anybody has built or documented their process in stories and acceptance tests.

I like it!

We haven't documented much of our process - we have a wiki page, but that just gives a very rough overview of the most important regular meetings and such stuff.

I think, for a small colocated team, the process is most effectively communicated like tribal rites are - by living them together.

Yes, I'd love to live in such a paradise.

We have too many conversations like:

- Why aren't you following the process to flow through the 47 status codes for that requirement?

- Um, sorry, how would I know about those?

- They in a Word doc in an obscure directory on a really slow file share somewhere.

- Hey, it's a little out of date - Last updated in 1998 and covers only the first 4 status codes.

- Wassamatta? I thought you were the guy who didn't like too much documentation?

"True. So would you like to brainstorm with me a number of possible approaches to make this document obsolete, and still reduce the likeliness that this gets forgotten again in the future?"
