Nobody cares? Why? Solaris is not hot anymore?

I think most of the people here are developers, not system administrators.

In addition, only SCSA 9 holders can apply for this beta exam.

Hi Peng

I want to take Solaris Certification in the future. I believe by the end of this year after clearing some exams from IBM and SUN.

Can you give me some clues about books and mock exams?

Thanks in advance

I took the two Solaris 9 exams last year. I used the ExamCram2 book, and really liked it. I also bought a Solaris workstation so I could experiment with it at home.

You both are having 17 cirtificates . Really looks impossible for me atleast ...
Can you answer me one question , why you took all :

1] Because your company pays for it .
2] You really got good opprtunities ( good job , high salary ) because of this cirtificates .

please reply soon ...

Thanks a lot .

PS : Could you please tell me , what is your current position in job & salary ...

Thank you very much .

Actually I have 20. My main motivation has been to try to survive the bad economy. The company I work for pays for tests & courses, but I pay for books. I've been working on these since Fall 2002, taking roughly one test each month. (I passed Security+ a couple days ago).
I can't say how much the certifications help, since I haven't looked for a job recently. I've been with my current company for 7 years, with a title of Senior Programmer / Analyst.

John

I appreciated your hints. Currently Sun is offering free download for Solaris on X86 environment. Thus, it is a good opportunity to pursue an Unix certification.

I would say certifications themselves only mean nothing, they are worth when you gain something during the studying process.
