Hello Ranchers,

Just coming back from exam center and I was able to clear IBM 399 Websphere Portal V5.1 Application Development Test !

The exam is not very difficult to pass with adequate preparation but I found it difficult to score higher percentage !!!

Lot of questions on Portlet API JSTL tags used for JSP's. Also recomended is that you know RAD 6.0 installation and trouble shooting in detail.

Can anyone tell me if i can use IBM logo now ? And which IBM logo I can use? Score card is not send to me immediately on mail. I only have a printed result copy given my VUE test center.

Thanks
Dheeraj

Thanks Jayadev,

I strongly feel that you should read the redbooks as recomended for IBM 399
http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/tests/edu399.shtml

Be thorough with JSR 168 specification (Recomended book is Java Portlet API by Linwood and Minter)

Make sure to read about struts portlet, business process portlet, service portlets and lot of portlet JSTL stuff as I have mentioned before.

Thanks

Thanks Nick ! Thanks Tong !

The long list of certifications following the name of Ranchers has always being top inspiration (and perspiration )for me.

IBM 399 is my first success, genuine thanks to this site and all the fabulous people who mingle here.

hmmm ICED would be my personal choice because I do not know anyting about SCJA beta

But my company wants me to do something in WBI ... so guess after 399 it might be time for 993 ...

Basically, if the tests are free of charge (i.e. covered by the company), I am happy to take whatever exams.

Or you might consider SCJP 5.0 as SCJP (any version) is one of the requirement for ICED.

Yes Nick, as usual right said fred !

If it is paid by company then any exam is OK.

But its embarassing personally for me, for not taking SCJP so far

Still I will have to do what my company expects from me
