There are some upgrade exams for other certification besides SCEA.
Why did the objectives of SCEA Exam never changed?

It's changing. But I don't know when Sun will issue new version of SCEA.

I suspect it's just low on the list of priorities - if nothing has changed since when I last had a chance to talk one-on-one with someone from Prometric (at JavaOne in 2005), then SCEA makes up about 1% of all Java certification exams sat for, overall. There are more pressing matters, therefore, such as keeping the technology-specific exams up to date with the versions coming out every eighteen months.

Now, it would be nice, obviously, if SCEA were updated for Java EE 5, but we'll see when/if that happens. There was, recently, a request for some experts for their preliminary considerations of at least a portion of the exam to be updated...

That's fantastic.
I never use EJB1.0 or EJB2.0 in some project I really worked on.
And I don't think I will use them in the future. So if I study them just for the exam and they won't help me in my works, that will be unfortunate.
I will wait for the exam updating.
