Today I passed SCWCD with a score of 96%.
Thanks to JavaRanch for running this forum and to the moderators of this forum for the valuable information/links/mock exam.
Here's some information about my preparation.
1. For the past year I've been working with Servlet/JSP's mostly with Tomcat 3.2.x and Sybase EAServer 3.6.1. For the certification I installed Tomcat 4.0 beta 7 and it helped a lot.
2. Read Core Servlets/JSP by Marty Hall. (Good book/examples)
3. Read Jason Hunter's Servlet book, 2nd Ed. (Real classic)
4. Read Servlet/JSP specs whenever I felt the need. (Ultimate source)
3. Read Miftahkhan's notes. (Very very good notes, concise and to the point, Thank you very much)
4. Read Ken's notes. (Nice notes, thanks)
5. Read Michell's notes. (Good, short notes, thanks)
6. Practiced with JWebPlus. (Very good collection of questions, closely resembles the real test, good confidence boost - thanks.)
7. JavaRanch mock exam helped. (thanks)
Here's the breakdown of questions.
Servlet Model - 7
Modern Web applications - 4
Servlet Container Model - 5
Server-side expectations - 3
Session Management - 5
Secure Web Applications - 4
Thread-safe Servlets - 3
JSP Model - 9
Reusable Web Components - 2
JSP/JavaBeans - 4
Using Custom Tags - 2
Developing Custom Tags - 8
Design Patterns - 4
I got 3 type-in questions. No questions outside the objectives.
To sum it up, this test is a LOT easier than SCJP. Reading spec's and the mentioned notes and practicing with the mock tool (I highly recommend JWebPlus) may probably get you through the exam.
But in my experience, working with real applications and reading books (especially Jason Hunter) made me understand the specs more clearly and I felt like that book was filling in the gaps where specs left off. And this experience is more valuable as in all cases.
Best wishes to all of you.
Thanks again for all the contributors.

Thanks for the wishes! I really appreciate them! Javaranch has helped me a lot when I prepared for SCJP and it helped me again in the SCWCD preparation! Thank you very much!
As for the notes, I didn't create a whole lot of notes. But I consolidated the notes from Miftah Khan and Michelle into a single document and added some things that I think will be helpful for the preparation. If these people allow, I'll make it available on the net.
My best wishes for everybody.
Thanks again.

I have some study notes available on my home page.
http://www.geocities.com/velmurugan_p
This document consolidate various notes (Miftah Khan and Michelle) in a single document and it also contains some cheat sheets. Thanks to Miftah Khan and Michelle.
Hope this is helpful for your SCWCD preparation.
Best wishes.

Congrats Velmurugan,

juz checking something with you regarding the exams...
During your exam, have you come across questions that ask you which class a method comes from?
I would find this type of question difficult for those less used methods and there's a rather huge number of methods in the web component related apis and I do believe there are more better challenging questions that Sun can ask rather than to require us to memorise their apis.
Thanks in advance.
