I am planning to give SCWCD 1.3 very soon. I want to know does any of the previous versions of any java certification (especially scwcd) ever expire. If I clear SCWCD 1.3 exam now will i be able to use the logo and write myself as SCWCD certified lifelong or will i have to give an upgradation exam after some period of time.

Even I would be interested in the answer to this question.

Hi Darren,

I had read the page you gave a few days before and I was not getting it to send as an answer to Angela. When I was finding it, I bumped into http://training.sun.com/US/certification/register/certification.html

This made me think if there is an upgrade exam specified, will this be obsolete?

Cheers!
Leena

Theoretically your certification will never become obsolete. But in reality when the technology (and the version) is no more used, you are forced to take the upgrade exam or a new version of the exam to stay certified.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
