I'm thinking of doing one of the certified exams. Am I right in thinking the 'Programmer' one is the easiest ?
I was wondering how long it would take me - I'm a full time java developer (have been for 2 years) and I'm pretty good at it... . I realise it depends on how hard I work at it but are we talking months, a year, years ? How long did it take you ?
Tom.

First off, SCJP is a requirement for the rest of the exams
Secondly, I think I studied for the SCJP exam for a couple of 3-4 weeks, off and on.

Hi Tom, like Nate said, for your first exam you don't really have a choice. It is the SCJP. With your experience, I'd suggest getting The RHE book at Complete Java Certification Study Guide by RHE.
And I think one read through and answers some of their questions, and also doing a bunch of Mocks you will be ready in under a month.
But the best resource is to go to the SJCP forum.
Then when you compelte that one join us here at SCJD forum, or you can go to SCWCD ecert Forum. If you have done JSP and Servlets in your experience, then your step after SCJP should be SCWCD and you cna compelte that pretty quickly too. Then come back to SCJD.
Good Luck and see you soon.
