is it possible to execute the rmi application when the server and the rmiregistry in different locations

So, you are asking:
If the server and rmi registry are in different machines (different IP addresses) can I register an object from the server in the rmi registry?

If this is the question, then the answer is no.
RMI registry does not allow bind/rebind from any other IP but the ip of the machine on which it is running.

I remember a discussion on this forum about this that discusses some kludges to get it going but I do not remember whether they are really useful.
