The problem is that when i execute my appletviewer within a DOS prompt the applet doesn't show or load up instead i get a prompt...No errors displayed... but when i open the html (applet embedded) file in a browser the applet shows, why it is like this?

Most likely the problem is due to your Windows PATH not being set correctly. The browser uses the registry to locate the plugin but if you try to launch appletviewer the PATH variable is used instead.
