I would like to know what are the packages used for image rpocessing My requirement is to tranfer any type of image to desired location and process it or refine it.currently I m using AWT and I/O.
Any suggessions on what I shall I prefer instead?
Any books for image tranfer and processing using Java?

Look at the Java Advanced Imaging API for image processing. How useful it will be depends on what you are trying to do.
