Atlassian has just released the latest version of its professional issue tracker, JIRA 3.6.
JIRA 3.6 adds the ability to assign permissions and notifications to an issue's group field value. For example, users could specify a 'Responsible Group' for an issue, and that group's members would get notifications and permissions for that issue. 3.6 also allows new notification events to be defined, allowing fine-grained control over who gets notified in complex workflows. Reporting has been improved in this release with the inclusion of pie-charting capabilities and an average age report. With faster page loads, workflow editor improvements, and 50 other improvements and bug fixes, JIRA 3.6 is a worthy update. A complete list of changes can be found in the release notes available at
