Hello gurus

I am a newbie in Java Servlet. I am using Sun's Java Web Server 2.0 and

http://localhost:9090 is not working in my browser.

I am behind a proxy server. I have tried both enabling and disabling proxy server but in vain.

Please help ASAP and mention any web resourse and/or book for such a newbie

I don't know anyone that uses that server, we always recommend Apache Tomcat.

The proxy won't make a difference if you include your local machine in the list of excluded IP addresses.

Proxy doesn't make any difference. Check if you have a firewall.

the proxy will make a difference if the browser is set to autoconfiguration and the proxy config doesn't exclude the local machine.

"Sarath PS",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
