can any one tell how to accecpt user input.e.g taking name from the user & then printing the name

try this...
just run it and type in some characters and then return

import java.io.*;
class Test
{
    public static void main(String args[]) throws IOException
    {
byte[] b = new byte[255];
BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream(System.in);
bis.read(b);

    }
