What classes and methods will be available depend on the profile that you're using. It's important when developing for JME to select a profile that matches the target hardware, too. Otherwise it will work fine on your desktop and not work at all on the actual device.
Nokia specs are normally quite good about telling you what profile and additional JSR's a given phone supports.
The secret of how to be miserable is to constantly expect things are going to happen the way that they are "supposed" to happen.
