several years ago, one of the sheriffs changed my title to "lowercase dad". this was in honor of my adopting my daughter (which in no small part happened due to a thread here in MD) plus the fact that i don't always (well, ok, i SELDOM) use proper case in my posts.

my daughter is Chinese, and in China, parents are 'mama' and 'baba'. so after I got back from China, I asked the same sheriff to change the 'dad' to 'baba', in honor of her.

it's really not a very exciting story.

So what is her favorite programming language?
Is she a Mac or PC or Linux?

When I first read that title, Sanjay Dutt of bollywood came to my mind who is called as Baba in bollywood. He has a strong body build and does powerful roles in movies. So the lower case baba struck me with an image of that. But the story is completely different from that ...

she uses both Windows and Mac OS. it all depends on whether her mama or baba will let her use their computer.

She was in my office yesterday, and one of our directors offered to hire her, saying "She wouldn't be any worse than some of our other developers".

It's about time she earned her keep.

Ah, a micro computer programmer.

My daughter was pure Mac at two. (Of course PCs at the time were just dos prompt. She moved to Winders at about ten. She went through a lot of PCs. At 22, she got a Mac Book.
