I'm glued to almost all the HBO original series. They've made "TV" something totally new. Movies can never do what The Sopranos or The Wire have done ... just not enough hours to tell something that complex. Curb Your Enthusiasm is maybe the only exception. No offense to the people who love it, but I find it unwatchable.

Long back when in school I used to be adicted to this 1 hour reserved for cartoons. The name of the program used to be "Disney Hour" Me and my 4-5 cousins would be all set waiting for Disney Hour to start at 6 PM everyday. It would have cartoons like "Talespin" and others.

Also we were crazed about this strange serial I dont know from where mostly Japan I guess.. It used to be called "Blue Mountain Saga" we were damn adicted to it and never missed a part. Used to have all the kungfu kinda stuff and some magic as well. Was really adictive.

Also there was a time when "I dream of jeannie" and "The three stooges" caught our attention. These too were great especially "I dream of jeannie" was amazing.

Then came the era of Hindi soap serials like "Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi" and what not... and things were never the same...! "Saas" Mother in law fighting with "bahu" daughter in law? Characters dying then taking rebirth , double roles (no multiple roles in fact!) and what not.. some serials would seem to go on for ever.. These were enough to keep us away from the TV set..and really tough rather torturous to follow..

Long gone were the good old days... ha ha..

Now I like watching anything related to planes!
Also "Dog Fights" on Nat Geo I guess is a great show on real life storis of actual dog fights (I mean the planes one! ).
Also a new series comming up "Future Weapons" is also great. Also I like "Click online" and "Wheels". "Just for laughs" on POGO is good too.

Lot of good things but not time to watch!

Thanks for reminding those good old days!
Cheers!

These days I only wait for these three serials or rather don't change channel when these are showing on TV:

    1. Koffee with Karan.
    2. The great indian laughter challenge/champion, especially Raju Srivastav in it.
    3. KBC

All else (talking about only Hindi channels) are crap in my view. I mostly enjoy movies on TV.

Exactly the same series, I am just dreaming about my childhood now. Eventhough we have so many channels nowadays, those are the best days of my life. Thanks for the original poster and all those who are sharing their experiences. It's nice to think of the past once in a while

Battlestar Galactica (now waiting for 2008, sadly)
Doctor Who (still pining over Rose)
The Office (the characters just keep growing on me)
    Heroes
    Lost (picking up momentum again)
Drive (just started, fun so far...)
24 (seems to be repeating itself this season)
    Survivor (current favorite: Yau Man)

He won immunity today (at least 'today' here in my country), so I think the others will realize that he is a threat.

    The Rocky and Bulwinkle Show.

    Batman.

Any of the serials on the _old_ Micky Mouse Club show -- the one with Bobby (who later became a ballroom dancer on the Lawrence Welk show) and Annette Funicello (who later became a star with Frankie Avalon in teen-oriented movies such as _Beach Party_).
