From the What time to you wake up? thread:

Might this suggest that the rotation of the Earth has been slowly accelerating?

Will we be expected to work 8 hour work days when days are only 8 hours long?

I thought the earth was actually slowing down... which means in a few million years, it'll align with human's internal clocks... unless it's daylight savings time.

Slowing down? Awesome!

Doesn't that contradict theories of evolution a little?

I think this is only coincidential,

earths spinning time shouldn't drop that much in only 100,000 years.

Huh how would it do that? Not taking into account that I have no idea if it acually is slowing down^^

Would it be possible to speed up or down earths rotation if we all started running in the same direction facing east or west respectively...?

Would it help if we somehow convinced all the elephants to cooperate with us in mimicking us...?

The earth's rotation is definitely slowing down not speeding up, mostly because of the drag of the moon. Somehow this is also making the month longer, because the extra kinetic energy pushes the moon back a bit from the earth. I'm not sure I understand that, but there it is.

The theory continues that a day and month at some point will be the same length: about 47 days in current reckoning. Of course, we will have the 25 hour day long before that. That will be great! It will match our internal clocks (I guess) and give Maki an extra hour of sleep. It's something to look forward to in a short million years or so.

Who do we sue? ...So that we get paid 10 million dollars for health effects brought by this? Is this why we need a coffee kick in the morning?
