Hello,

I have recently purchased the SAI voucher since i am a student. After booking the exam i realised that the exam number is different. What is the difference between both of them ( both exam - wise and certification - wise )

Is there any diff in the difficulty level. I am really worried

Please Help me out

Thanks !

I don't know about 212-083. The certification code for SCWCD is CX-310-083, and CX-310-084 for the update.

After booking the exam i realised that the exam number is different.

How did you realize that ?

i dint pay attention to the exam number...anyways i got the official reply from sun...here is what they said

"Hello Sir,

No problem, the only difference is the test number. The commercial tests begin with "CX-310" and the Sun Academic Initiative tests begin with "CX-212". They are the same tests and lead to the same certification. However, at this discounted price, you will not be receiving the wallet card. If this is needed you will have to take the exam at the commercial price.

Thanks for your participation in SAI!

SUN Team"

Thanks Anyways !

Rupesh, if you are not already SCWCD, then you'll have to go for 310-083. The upgrade exam (310-084) is for people who are already SCWCD from a previous version and want to be certified from the latest version...

Moussa, I've not read "Sun Certified Web Component Developer Study Guide", so I can't say how that book is, but HFSJ (short for Head First Servlets and JSP) second edition is a very good book. In addition to the HFSJ book, you should read the servlets and JSP specifications. Whizlabs is one of the good commercial mock exams, although I didn't use it for my preparation, I just used HFSJ book, niko's and marcus green's mock exams and read the servlets and JSP specifications. Everything that you need (links to specifications, mock exam etc) are in the ScwcdLinks page...
