Hi,

I need to create an application while reads some set of data from the database and plots the XY graph with data in an excel and sends the report to a mailing list.

Could someone please guide me how can we plot the XY graph in excel using java?

Thanks
Vinod

The most capable API for creating Excel files in Java is Apache POI, and I'm fairly certain that it can't create embedded charts.

Your best bet may be to use OpenOffice in server mode, and use its Java API to drive the creation of such a file. That has a fairly steep learning curve, though.
