I have a standalone java application (With a UI screen with login page in Applet and AWT) which i have to distribute to my clients as EXE. The client will simply add the exe in the desktop and on clicking the icon the application should be launched displaying the Login screen. kindly help....

Welcome to the Ranch.

If you create an exe you will be tied down to the windoze platform.
Usually, the recommended way is to create an executable jar file. More details at http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/jar/ The Manifest section will tell you how to create a self executable one.
However, if you still wish for an exe, you can use options like http://jsmooth.sourceforge.net/

I personally prefer the executable jar approach

If you have the file associations set, to associate .jar with the Java runtime, you can double-click a .jar and it will be executed.

exe4j and install4j are brilliant tools.
