Satya, Dave and Sayed, Congratulations on getting the book out.
I just skimmed through the TOC for the book and did not see anything on SpringAndroid. Does your book touch this aspect of Android programming?

Sai,

I suspected Spring will show up on Android at some point.

No we don't cover it at all.

we stick to the basic SDK. (I have deviated from this to cover Titanium. But again removed it from 3rd edition due to space)

But clearly I see the advantage of having a small Spring as part of your toolkit

Goodluck

Yes, I did have a peek into Titanium and Sencha Touch a while ago but haven't done much on it. I thought it was very promising.
What is your experience been with Titanium?

It is an excellent approach.

There are documentation issues a couple of years ago when I wrote the chapter. But is a very active set of deveopers and I know Jeff (one of their founders) reall well. He is awsome.

I have high hopes for Titanium.

I went to Stir Trek in Columbus, Ohio a couple of weeks ago. There was some talk of Titanium. Mostly good. They also pointed out a few of the gotchas to be careful of; for instance, iOS has an event that is fired when you reach the end of a scrollable list view, but Android does not. All-in-all nothing that can't be worked around. Again, mostly good comments, just warnings that you should expect it to be the end-all-be-all for cross platform development.

Was a good conference. Full day of sessions, breakfast, box lunch + a private screening of Thor for $35.
