Hi,

I am new to this forum and also new to WebSphere and RAD.

I would like to know the complete steps to configure WebSphere 6.1 with eclipse. Do I need any plug-in to configure WebSphere 6.1 with eclipse? I would also like to know which path I have to provide for "IBM WebSphere Installation Directory" while configuring WebSphere 6.1 with eclipse.

Also let me know that is it necessary to use RAD while developing applicaiton in eclipse using WebSphere?

I really appriciate help on the above mentioned topic.

Regards,

1. No free or opensource plug-in available that connects WebSphere 6.1 and Eclipse.

2. You will be able to debug WebSphere 6.1 apps using remote debug feature of JVMs. I have tested this with both WAS 6.1 and 7.0

3. RAD (rational app developer) will help you in RAD (rapid app development). It is a memory hogger and requires lot of memory 4GB+ and CPU power to run.

Every plan is a little cooler if you have a blimp. And a tiny ad.
